Inscription built into the wall of the church Εισόδια της Θεοτόκου at Thermi (Lesbos)
In an article written by M. Axiotis in the local newspaper of Lesbos the photograph of an ancient inscription is published. In the present note I identify the inscription and I publish again Axiotis’ photograph.
IG XII 2, 308 (Phot. 1): funerary inscription of the Roman period built into the external wall of the church of Εισόδια της Θεοτόκου at Thermi (Phot. 2), (see Μ. Αξιώτης, Εμπρός, 10 Ιουλίου 2013, «Πύργοι, πυργόσπιτα και εκκλησιές»).

The editor of the IG XII,2 corpus G. Paton (IG XII 2, 308) mentions the following regarding the find spot of the inscription: «In vico Thermi; muro ecclesiae maioris instructa stela parva marmoris candidi». Paton does not name the church.
